10 Powerful Prayers to Pray Over Your Husband

It is so important that we pray for our husbands and our marriages in the midst of life’s challenges. Wives, the enemy is the same serpent that went after the very first marriage in human history. Instead of listening to the same lies given to Eve, we must fight for our marriage and our husbands with the truth of God’s word. Praising God and praying His will for your husband will be the most rewarding work as his wife. The Lord has already promised blessings, and He wants us to participate in these blessings.

The promises of the Bible are already yours, you just need to ask and receive.
Matthew 7:7-8

I have included prayers for your husband in every aspect of life- career, temptation, faith, leadership, and more. Feel free to use these prayers as they are or use them as a guide for your own unscripted prayers.

1. Pray for his work.

Lord, I pray that you would bless my husband's work. That he would be prosperous and full of wisdom as he works each day. God, I pray you give him strength and courage to work long days. Thank you for providing this job for him.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the works of our hands for us- yes establish the work of our hands.
Psalm 90:17

2. Pray against temptation.

God, I pray that you will help my husband stand strong against temptation. Help him to set his mind on what is good, true, noble, right, admirable and pure. Put a guard on his heart and help him to remember you are with him and will give him strength to resist any temptation that comes his way.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Colossians 3:2

3. Pray for his mind and his fears.

Lord, I pray you guide my husband's mind and heart. When fears consume his thoughts, I pray you remind him he can be strong and courageous through you. Help his mind be at rest and focus on your words as his fears and racing thoughts are calmed.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

4. Pray for his priorities.

God, I pray for my husband's priorities. I pray that he prioritize you first, and secondly his family, above all others. Help his priorities align with your word and help him grow towards you.
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33

5. Pray for his leadership.

God, thank You for this man you have set in my life to lead me and our family. I trust you to help my husband become the godly father and husband you have called him to be. I pray he opens his heart for you to lead him in the right paths. Teach him that true leadership is pure and kind. I pray he feels confidence and courage and that he will seek you first in all things, so he can lead us in the way that is good and right for each member of our family.
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds, tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Deuteronomy 11:18-19

6. Pray for his fatherhood.

Lord, I pray for my husband's fatherhood. I pray he will lovingly raise and teach our children. I pray you will teach him, guide him, and direct his paths to train them in the way they should go with grace and patience. May they always know their father loves them and does all he does for their good.
Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Proverbs 22:6

7. Pray for his friendships.

Father, I pray my husband finds friends who are wise and kind. Friends who sharpen him and encourage him in his faith. I pray you would remove any ungodly friends and give my husband the wisdom to see who is building up his character. Help him be a man who attracts godly friends who will provide encouragement and support.
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17

8. Pray for his Faith and spiritual walk.

Father, I pray for my husband's spiritual walk with you. I pray he has the faith to seek you first and always, and to stand firm in your promises. Help him to be able to reflect on what you have already done, not forgetting the faithfulness you have already shown to him. Help him to find joy, hope, and encouragement through his faith. I pray his faith grows as he grows closer to you through your word and through prayer.
"And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith."
Matthew 21:22

9. Pray for unity in your marriage with him.

Lord, I pray for unity in our marriage. Help me to honor and respect my husband, and help him to love me as Christ loves the church. Help us to have healthy communication and to speak kindly instead of tearing one another down. Thank you for this marriage and this unity and help us to be a testimony of your love for us. Join our hearts together, so we may be one as you intended us to be. Teach us to "be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave" us. (Ephesians 4:32)
Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.
Colossians 3:18

10. Pray for his future.

Lord, I pray you give my husband a clear vision of what Your plan is for him. Stay at his right hand so he will not be shaken. I pray he will be a man who seeks to do good so he may inherit eternal life. In the midst of difficult days, help him remember that you are there for him and not against him. Help him to feel encouraged to know you have promised him a bright and hopeful future.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

Satan desires to destroy your husband and your marriage. Your prayers are the greatest weapon against him. I pray that you find these prayers and scriptures helpful and you see God move in your husband’s heart and provide him with encouragement, hope, and faith.
